It shouldn’t have come as a surprise to anyone when the notice came today that Boots and Hearts 2020 has been cancelled

It’s been a few weeks since we caught up with Jason but it feels like a lifetime ago now. Our conversation came mere days before a massive tornado ripped through Nashville, luckily Jason and his family and friends are ok but boy at the time we had no idea how much different the world would look a few months later. From Nashville being turned upside down by the tornado to a pandemic that would see sports and music events cancelled, borders closed and artists turning to live streaming to keep their fans engaged.

It was another stellar day weather wise and the music was red hot on Saturday at Boots and Hearts as two of our favourite performers, Kip Moore and Miranda Lambert, were set to headline the main stage that night.

Eight years into Boots and Hearts and the lineup this weekend has us incredibly excited. After a high octane kick-off on Thursday night Friday was primed to jump into high gear with plenty of amazing talent to keep the party going until well into Saturday morning.

Presented by 1000 Islands RV – Life is a short, live it well – The longest part of every year is the week of August leading up to our annual summer country music party at Boots and Hearts. The wait finally came to an end last night as Kris Barclay, the Cadillac Three and Chase Rice hit the front porch stage for the annual Boots and Hearts kick-off party.

The 8th and final slot in the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist showcase went to Rebecca Rain. Rebecca was featured last week as part of the 3 Wildcard artists but since we featured all three artists in one post we offered Rebecca a second set of questions so she could have a dedicated post as a member of the top 8.

Born and raised in Toronto Ontario, our next Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase finalist, David Boyd Janes, is quickly making himself known among the country music community. His solo career into country music began only last September 2017 and already he has made some serious waves.
