Manitoulin Countryfest is situated five minutes from the village of Little Current which is accessible via the swing bridge, the one we passed on the Songwriters Cruise at noon, south of Espanola and southwest of Sudbury. Therefore, all the necessities of life, including several good restaurants, are readily available. We chose Chinese food to fortify us for a return to the Countryfest site for Day Two’s shows which started at 6pm.

The gates have barely closed on the 2015 Boots and Hearts Music Festival and my thoughts are already turning to the big 5 Year Anniversary in 2016.  With so many of Country’s biggest names already having graced the B&H Stages it’s a tough one.  But here is my Top 20 list of acts for next year!

Dear Rouge is one of the hottest acts in Canada, and today they release the official music video for “Tongues”.  We were lucky enough to be on-set for the filming of this video this past June in Toronto at The Opera House.  If you missed Drew and Danielle at Ottawa Bluesfest or WayHome this summer we’ve learned that there will be a big tour announcement this Thursday, so stay tuned we’ll have all the details here!  In the meantime check out “Tongues”

Well,  It was the last day of the bid weekend.  Most say they save the best for last.  It’s pretty tough to top Eric Church and Dallas Smith as headliners.   But when you get Thomas Rhett & Florida Georgia Line ya at least have a shot.   And lets just say these guys came to party.   I am a HUGE Thomas Rhett fan and have been for years (5 or 6 now at least) I can still remember seeing him take the stage in Chicago at Joe’s on Weed St.  Performing after Brad Paisley’s big Wrigley Field gig as the after party to maybe 300 people and then witnessing the show yesterday.

Ottawa’s Blackwell released their 3rd single, A Long Way From Blue on August 11.  You are now able to request it on country radio stations all across Canada.  Blackwell has granted us an exclusive preview of the new single and we’re passing it on to you. 

Well day #3 is in the books for Boots and Hearts.

Another AMAZING Day of music, interviews and meeting new friends.   I have to say the people who come to Boots and Hearts are pretty special people.  With over 40,000 people in attendance I have to hand it to Republic Live this experience in the new digs has been unbelievable.   From the fantastic lay of the land to the killer line up they have put together its just been an experience that any country music lover should take in.

Well for those of you that have been reading the site for the last year or so, you all know that I am a HUGE Eric Church fan.   To celebrate Eric playin’ north of the border for the largest country music festival in Canada Boots & Hearts I thought I would put a few of my favourite tracks from the artists hitting the stage today!

As I write this day 2 of Boots and Hearts is well underway and 8 tensions are likely starting to grow between 8 emerging artists set to take to the Front Porch Stage Saturday afternoon all vying to be chosen for the coveted opening spot for Thomas Rhett on Sunday afternoon.  One of the top 8 is Winnipeg Manitoba’s Leanne Pearson.  In less then two years, Leanne has had one single hit Top 50, “Get Outta My Heart”, and one single hit Top 90, “The Only Thing”. Leanne shows that there are no limits to an Independent Canadian Country Girl. We had the chance to chat with her a few months back about her career to date and what it meant to be chosen for the top 8 at Boots and Hearts.

Well, it’s just as the headline says it was.  Last night was one hell of Kickoff Party for Boots & Hearts at their new home in Oro-Medonte.

We had a chance to sit down with Maddie & Tae a couple weeks back when they made their Canadian debut at Gone Country in London, Ontario.  For those of you that made it to the show will know the girls know how to bring it.   Here is our interview with the fabulous Maddie & Tae.
