Cory Marquardt has a new single out… And this one is one you will want to crank up to ten… Atleast we know we do. Nowhere With You is Cory’s 4th Single and might just be the one that finally grabs the ears of Country Radio in Canada. We had a chance to have Cory do an acoustic version of this one and we would love to hear what you think!
Hey Ontario, The South Is Coming….
So for those of you that don’t listen to SXM Radio you may not have heard a whole lot of Cadillac Three or Chase Rice on the Radio up here in Canada. However if you crank The Highway on SXM on a regular basis you have heard these two amazing acts multiple times. Cadillac Three have a song on slow rotation on some of Canada’s Country Radio stations with White Lighting. While Chase has had a little more success with his singles Ready, Set, Roll and Gonna Wanna Tonight north of the border. Neither have played many dates up here so we are happy to have them headin’ to the Great White North!
Next Women of Country Tour Coming to Ontario
So Jennifer Nettles and The Next Women of Country Tour are headed North to Casinorama later this month an let me tell ya, you won’t want to miss this show.
Lets kick it off with the absolutely amazing support acts starting with new comer Tara Thompson. For those who haven’t been introduced to Miss Thompson yet this girl is full of sass.. Her current single Someone To Take Your Place has a real hook that has you bumpin before the end of the first chorus.
Next up likely on stage will be one of Canada’s best exports to Nashville. The guitar slinging Lindsay Ell. Lindsay hasn’t spent much time North the last 3 or 4 years as she has honed her amazing songwriting and killer guitar playing in Nashville. The Alberta born and raised country singer brings a whole new outlook to girls rockin the country beats. Here new single By The Way is catching traction south of the border and will likely make its way to Canadian Radio in early 2016. But take a listen to this…WOW. This is what you can expect from Lindsay in Orillia later this month I am sure of it. Be sure to crank this one up..
Next up will likely be the uber talented Brandy Clark. This girl can string together a song in her sleep it seems. Having written some great tracks for some of Country Music’s elite Miss Clark has a new album coming out in early 2016 so we are sure to see some of her new stuff along with some of her more popular stuff from her first album such as Stripes or Get High.
The woman to shut the place down will be none other than Jennifer Nettles. I would be lying if I was saying that I wasn’t excited to see Jennifer live. This would be my first time and I know after watching so much LIVE Acoustic Vidoe on YouTube her voice isn’t like anything you have ever heard. Watch this video from 2014 when Jennifer and Brandy teamed up for His Hands.. .WOW. We can only hope we get to see something like this come showtime at CasinoRama.
From the looks of things there are still some great seats left. Grab tickets to The Next Women Of Country Tour at CasinoRama on January 15th here.
We can’t wait for this one!

Looking back at 2015
At the end of last year I looked ahead to 2015 and made a bold prediction that it would be bigger with more interviews with bigger artists, more festivals, more events and more contests. I could never have predicted exactly how much bigger the year would actually be.
Holiday Cheer with Bucko and Toad….
We haven’t covered Bucko & Toad till now and it just seems fitting with a great new Christmas Tune currently blasting over the airwaves on country radio we had a chance to ask the duo some festive questions…
1. Christmas usually has some special memories what would you consider your favourite Christmas Memory.
Kenn
“When I was about four years old I swore that I saw a magic dust come off of Santa’s sleigh and fall
from the sky, then somebody dressed in a Santa suit came over.. that was it…. I fully believed Santa
was real, I saw the proof!”
Kelly
“Christmas morning before we were allowed to run into the living room where the tree was is always
such a fun memory for me. My brother and I would be yelling together “can we come in yet!!!” And
my parents would joke and say not yet.. When they finally would let us run in the first glimpse at the
tree and gifts was so exciting!!”
2. Real or Fake Tree and why?
Kenn
“Real tree because of the smell but I’ll tell yeah I was getting really close to not having a real tree!
They’re really difficult to pull out of your house with all the needles falling. But Kelly’s solution to that
is to completely cut the tree limbs off one by one and take them out of the house, so that solves that.
Lol”
Kelly
“Real! I love everything about it! Choosing the perfect tree, the smell, it’s so nostalgic.”
3. Favourite Christmas Carol to sing?
Kenn
“Oh holy night is just a great Christmas song to sing because it’s just dramatic and big note at the end!”
Kelly
“I love singing Silent Night, it’s so peaceful and pretty!”
4. Best present you ever gave someone at Christmas?
Kenn
“I think sentimental are ones of my grandmothers reading the night before Christmas, I record of their
voices so that my mom and my dad could always hear their voices every Christmas forever.”
Kelly
“I gave Kenn an obscure book he had as a kid, I loved seeing his face recognize it when he opened it!”
5. What is it like to record a Christmas song in the “Off” season and how do you get in the mood for Christmas at that time of year?
Kenn
“We love Christmas spirit! So it was easy for us to imagine Christmas all year long!”
Kelly
“It was fun, like having two Christmases in one year!”
6. Tell us about recording your newly released Holiday Single “Frozen In Your Eyes” and how the idea / inspiration of the song came about and how long the writing process took on this one?
Kenn
“A few years ago Kelly and I were sitting around thinking wouldn’t it be great to have a Christmas
song! We didn’t want it to be full of Christmas trees and clichés so we decided to write about skating,
we remembered this one trip we took to a place called Butchart Gardens and Victoria that has an
outdoor skating rink so we use that as the inspiration for the song! Fast forward to 2015 we brought up
the idea of the Christmas song to Jonathan at 604 Records, he liked it! So we called up Tavish Crowe,
our Producer, he added his magic and bam! Frozen in your eyes!”
Kelly
“We wrote the song about 3 years ago just for something for our family and friends to enjoy, we
thought it would be fun to look back when we’re old and say “Haha we have a Christmas song!” The
song was based on a night we went skating at Butchart Gardens. Earlier this season we were tossing
around the idea of recording it again and having our producer Tavish Crowe give it a facelift, everyone
was onboard so that’s what we did!”
Here it is Bucko & Toad’s new Holiday Single Frozen In Your Eyes. Enjoy & Happy Holidays.
Ontario – A Hot Bed for Country Music Festivals in 2016
Ok so I think we can officially say that Ontario has quickly become a HOT BED for Country Music Festivals for 2016 in Canada. Seriously its unreal… With nearly 13.8 Million people in Ontario and lets say you take 3% of that population that are ticket buying country music fans. You are looking at just over 380,000 people are looking to buy tickets into an event this summer. The big question is, which one or two are they going to be spending their hard earned cash on?
