It has been a crazy busy week for us at SCE and I have listened to so much great new music this week. Here are this weeks Barn Burners, four songs that really stood out for me this week.

Brit Floyd Invades London Ontario
The world’s largest tribute show to rock icons, Pink Floyd, rolled it’s way into London Ontario to a near capacity crowd at Budweiser Gardens RBC Theater. I was intrigued to see why a tribute show would be playing such a large venue. Let me tell you, I can totally understand, now, after seeing this show.
George Canyon sells out Nashville…
I was excited to be able to Photograph and review George Canyon at Nashville North in a place called Norval, just outside Georgetown Ontario. You’re probably wondering why I am pin pointing this on a map. It’s easy, I grew up in Mississauga and Nashville North was the only county bar around for ever. Heck they didn’t even have an enclosed mall in Georgetown when I first started to go to Nashville North. So when you get a top Canadian Country star like George Canyon It’s a big deal. It showed last night when I asked if this was a sell-out, I got a hell Yeah!!!!
Hangin’ with Aaron Goodvin
Yesterday we posted our Mason Jar Session with Warner Music Canada recording artist Aaron Goodvin. Today we follow that session up with a great chat we had with one Canada’s brightest emerging country artists. Having spent the last few years writing in Nashville, Aaron has honed his songwriting skills and is set to release his debut album April 8th. Here is our hang with Mr. Goodvin, enjoy.
Introducing Danielle Marie
2015 was a big year for Danielle Marie, a young starlet, from western Canada, a CCMA Spotlight Performance at the Canadian Country Music Fan favourite Legends Show in Halifax, 4 BC Country Music Award Nominations, the 2015 BCCMA Ray McAuley Horizon Award and a radio tour throughout three provinces. Plus Danielle’s sophomore album Here Right Now broke the Top 25 iTunes Country Album Chart within 24 hours of release and her current single at radio, ‘Drive Away’, co-written with award winning Nashville writer Byron Hill, is proving to be her biggest yet and recently debuted on the Canadian Country Trax report currently at #74!
Death Cab For Cutie Steal The Show In Kingston
There is no better way to spend a Sunday evening than at Roger’s K-Rock Centre enjoying the sights and sounds of a live rock concert. Quite frankly, there isn’t a bad seat in the entire 5000 plus seat facility in the heart of downtown Kingston. And nothing compliments a mustard covered pretzel quite like a night of synth pop and drum fills.
Aaron Goodvin – Knock On Wood – Mason Jar Session

Why do venues still insist artists aren’t worth paying? #MondayMusings
Took a few weeks off to recover from minor surgery but I’m back…with no further ado here’s my latest edition of #MondayMusingsBefore I became a regular music writer I briefly worked in the music industry doing some artist management, booking and promotion. Nothing ticks me off more than a venue that doesn’t feel the need to properly compensate artists for their time.
