Dallas Smith has just recently released a new album titled Side Effects. I had a chance to sit down with Dallas while he was in Toronto to chat about the album. Huge thanks to Corus for letting us the fantastic space to do the interview. And don’t miss Dallas at the Norfolk County Fair on October 7th. Or if you are in the mood for a road trip to Halifax for New Years Eve it will be one heck of a party!

Midnight Shine shines on CityFolk stage in Ottawa debut
It was a beautiful late summer afternoon in Canada’s Capital, the great lawn at Lansdowne park was still soggy from the rain on Saturday but the crowds were starting to make their way down for the final day of CityFolk.
CCMA Award Show…
The dust has finally settled and I almost feel back to normal. The week long CCMA Hangover has subsided and we have managed to put together some amazing photos from the night. Both Bill and James did a fantastic job of capturing the nights moments. Let’s kick things off with what James captured.
Endless Summer – Mason Jar Session – Amen For Women
The names Bob & Clint Moffatt may ring a bell from the 90’s. They were 2 of the members of the Canadian group The Moffatt’s well 20 years has almost passed and Bob & Clint have a new project called Endless Summer and they are pretty damn remarkable. I had a chance to sit down and chat with the boys after they nailed a killer Mason Jar Session. Check out the Interview & Session below!
It’s Summer Forever With Billy Currington
You would’ve thought it was a hot mid summer night with the energy at The Danforth Music Hall on Wednesday night. A sea of Daisy Dukes and plaid on the dance floor, people arrived ready to party country music style.
Beamer Wigley – Mason Jar Session – Meteorite
We had a chance to have rising Country artist Beamer Wigley join us for a chat and a song while he was in Toronto earlier this week to help promote his debut album Meteorite. Check out my chat with Beamer along with a great acoustic rendition of his single Meteorite.
Justin Moore – Kinda Don’t Care
Justin Moore has a new album and a new single at radio. We love the title of the single “Kinda Don’t Care”. We love Justin’s new album and with a couple cuts written by Tebey and Erik Dylan we strongly suggest you grab the album. You can grab it HERE.
My Tragically Hip…
The Tragically Hip are Canada’s musical equivalent to maple syrup and only 8 days remain until the boys from Kingston rock out potentially one final time (if you’re an eternal optimist). You can consider yourself practically a lottery winner if you have seen or are going to see one of the four final shows. I haven’t won the “lottery” for this final tour, but I am a Hip fan to the core.
Steel Panther Slip into London Music Hall
When California glam rockers, “Steel Panther”, announced their latest tour with a stop in London Ontario, I knew this was a show we could not miss to review. This venue is one of our favorite venues to catch shows at, here in London, ON. The London Music Hall was set to play host to the throwback, 80’s glam rock days. While parking the car nearby, I couldn’t help but notice that there was a lot more neon spandex-wearing men in downtown London than on a normal Monday night.
The night kicked off with a few local acts tearing up the stage and getting the spandex clad fans riled up for the show to start. Toronto rockers, “Diemondz”, got the crowd firing on all cylinders with their metal sound and great stage show. If you can catch them, you should, the put on one heck of a show.
Then it was time! The hair, the make-up, the spandex, and the profanity were about to begin. “Steel Panther”, graced the stage and the place went into overdrive! By far, one of the loudest and craziest fan bases I have ever seen at a show in the London Music Hall.
If you don’t know who Steel Panther is, they are well known in the rock circle for their exaggerated stage show, profane lyrics and the humorous tones to their show. It’s more than just a rock show, it’s a comedy act all wrapped up into one. With audience participation, in the form of screaming, yelling, and throwing of undergarments, it was clear I wasn’t in my normal element of country music in London, ON. With that being said, it’s a show everyone, (well maybe not everyone), should take in once in their life. If you’re looking to catch them, they are going to be at the Sound Academy in Toronto on November, 29th, 2016. Tickets are on sale for that show but get them quick! It’s almost guaranteed to sell out.
