Kelsi Mayne should be no stranger to our readers, we featured Kelsi several years ago as she was vying for the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist of the year. Many of you may recognize her as the ‘Cherry Bomb’ in the River Town Saints hit video for the single of the same name and Eric Ethridge fans may recognize Kelsi from his cover of Luke Bryan and Karen Fairchild’s “Home Alone Tonight”.

While in Ottawa with Paul Brandt’s “Journey Tour,” Canadian brother band High Valley joined Timeout with the Twins for a chat about remaining true to their roots, their journey becoming one of the most recognizable Canadian country musical acts and a creepy doll named “Saruh” that eerily appears on the “Journey Tour” performers’ tour buses.

I’m sitting in the small green room at the back of the Brass Monkey in Ottawa, and waiting for the ultra-talented Pop Evil drummer Hayley Cramer. After a short wait she bounces into the room, looking cheerful and relaxed, and swipes her blonde hair off her face as she shakes my hand and introduces herself. We both have a good chuckle at the phallic doodles on the walls the bands have left behind, and sit down on the leather couch, and soon we are having more like a friendly chat rather than a scheduled interview.
