Each year, country legends, rock royalty and rising stars grace the stages of the Calgary Stampede. Check out all of the concerts and music headliners for 2018.
Yesterday we previewed the lineup for Nashville North, next up is our preview of the incredible Coca-Cola stage – where rock, alternative and pop music lives The biggest names in music—all free with admission.
With 10 straight days of performances from local, national and international performers, this new and expanded lineup will have music fans rocking through the day and into the night.
The Party Starts on July 5 with Alexisonfire and The Dirty Nil and runs nightly all the way through July 15 where Billy Talent and The Static Shift cap off the 10 days!
The Opening Acts
It all starts on July 5 as Hamilton’s own The Dirty Nil kicks off the party at 7pm. These guys know how to bring the party so you won’t definitely don’t want to miss this show! For more details click here.
On July 6 a pair of openers will take to the stage starting with Ottawa based duo Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine (EWxJF) at 7pm followed by UK based Banners at 8pm. For more details on EWxJF click here and for Banners click here
On July 7 Vancouver’s own Yukon Blonde will take to the Coca-Cola stage where you’re sure to hear tracks off their forthcoming album “Critical Hit”. For more information click here
July 8 will see Montreal’s Busty and the Bass take to the stage with their seamless blend of soulful hip hop vocals, rap, signature brass and synths they are sure to keep the audience on their feet! For more information and set times click here
Toronto based grandson will take to the stage on July 10 bringing his unique blend that ranges from jazz and rock & roll to rap, dancehall and R&B. For more information and set times click here
One of Nashville’s most celebrated songwriters, Caitlyn Smith, takes to the stage on July 11; with her compositions recorded by artists from James Bay to Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton to John Legend and Meghan Trainor (for whom she co-wrote the multi-platinum duet “Like I’m Gonna Lose You”).Rolling Stone has called Caitlyn’s voice “soaring and expressive” and Elle magazine praised her “powerful, affecting songs,” and she was named one the “top female vocalists” on Billboard’s SXSW 2017 Music Discovery. You’re certain to hit the “Jackpot” on July 12 when Jocelyn Alice takes to the stage. her 2015 breakout summer song, “Jackpot. (which has 92,245 spins and counting)” The track topped radio and sales charts eventually being certified Platinum in Canada. Jocelyn received a 2016 SOCAN Pop/Rock Music Award for Jackpot and received Canadian Radio Music Awards nominations in 2016 for Best New Group or Solo Artist: AC and Best New Group or Solo Artist: CHR. 2016 was a landmark year for Virginia To Vegas, who takes to the stage on July 13, with the release of his debut full-length album, “Utopian” which spawned two Top 10, platinum selling singles, “We Are Stars” and “Lights Out”. For more information click here
Considered to be the Godfather of PowWowStep, DJ-producer Shub, whose real name is Dan General, continues to forge ahead as a pioneer in a growing genre of music. At the forefront of many other producers he has inspired, Shub has stood on his own since winning a Juno Award with A Tribe Called Red in 2014 – performing all over North America and sharing stages with some of the biggest recording artists in today’s industry. Calgary’s own The Static Shift kicks off the closing night on the Coca-Cola Stage on July 15. A mixture of classic rock and blues, with romps of alternative, indie and psychedelic rock, carries the audience back to the heydays of rock n’ roll, while adding a new and unique modern twist to the mix.They were recently featured as part of CTV’s The Launch for which they recorded their #1 single “Wide Awake”.
