The world’s largest tribute show to rock icons, Pink Floyd, rolled it’s way into London Ontario to a near capacity crowd at Budweiser Gardens RBC Theater. I was intrigued to see why a tribute show would be playing such a large venue. Let me tell you, I can totally understand, now, after seeing this show.
The show made me wish I had the opportunity to see the real Pink Floyd live on stage. Brit Floyd has been playing to capacity crowds across North America on their, “Space and Time Continuum”, 2016 World Tour. Brit Floyd have played in front of over a million people. I quickly realized I wasn’t there just to catch a band perform, it was the complete deal. With the incredible sound and the jaw dropping light show, all your senses were consumed by the show.
They opened the show with, “Learning to Fly “, and the classic Pink Floyd hits kept rolling from there. ” Pigs “, came with a giant inflatable pig which had the crowd in awe. The first set lasted just over an hour and had me thinking back to sitting in a basement listening to Pink Floyd on vinyl – not that long ago.
The second set kicked off with an incredible rendition of, “Echoes”, and again the strong guitars and incredible sound brought your senses to an entirely different level. You were there watching a show but it almost felt like you became part of the show with laser lights shooting off the stage and over the crowd packed into the RBC theater.

The second set came to a close with an incredible version of, “Comfortably Numb”, which I think more than a few people in the building were feeling after spending over two hours immersed in an incredible rock and roll show. After a couple of minutes the band came back onto the stage to give the crowd a couple more songs. With the crowd singing along, the encores included, “Wish You Were Here”, and, “Run Like Hell”.
The entire show was visually stimulating, with a giant video screen as a backdrop, and likely millions of dollars in light gear alone. If you can catch this show as it heads across the country, I highly recommend it. Check out www.britfloyd.com, for more information and tickets.
