It has been three years since the release of his fourth studio self-titled album, and just over a year since the country music star started his social media hiatus and traded his smartphone for a flip phone phone. Brett Eldredge was soaring the past few years with each one of his singles reaching Gold Certification in the US and his first headlining tour. It is safe to say that Brett Eldredge had a memorable run for both him and his fans.
The Long Way tour saw two runs throughout 2018, in both the Spring and Fall season, with twenty-five shows across the United States, and festival shows in the summer season. When 2019 rolled around, fans were itching for new music, and that same year were given GLOW Deluxe.
However, over the past couple of weeks, fans have been teased online with little clips and what appear to be song lyrics as captions on his social media channels. As excitement built for his fans, it was on April 13, 2020, that it was announced that the lead single off his next studio album would be released. Titled ‘Gabrielle’ is an up-beat song telling the story about a love that didn’t work out but still wishing the other person the best. The song will be impacting radio April 27th, 2020.
The announcement of his fifth studio album came on his newly launched Fanclub ‘The Locals’ allowing fans to listen to two of the three tracks a day before album presale. His latest album titled ‘Sunday Drive’ is set to arrive on July 10th 2020 with a presale beginning on April 17th, 2020. With the presale, fans get immediate access to his lead single ‘Gabrielle’ as well as two other tracks ‘Crowd My Mind’ and ‘Where The Heart Is’. The album will contain 12 songs by Eldredge. The social media hiatus proved Eldredge well as he’s coming back with an album packed with songs that are sure to have fans singing along at shows and reppin’ shirts with song lyrics.
‘Crowd My Mind’ is a soulful country ballad with some underlying jazz hints, which ties back to his biggest musical influence Frank Sinatra. This song is sure to be a fan favourite. While “Where The Heart Is’ is the album opener and rightfully so, it sets the tone for what fans can expect for the whole album. This upbeat tune is soulful and fun, and sure to be a great addition to live sets.
Knowing Eldredge’s track record of soulful country ballads with a mixture of fun upbeat country tunes, this album will surely give fans what they have been waiting for three years for.
