We caught up with Toronto based electronic-pop artist BRDGS here during Juno Week.
John Pike a Singer/songwriter originally from Steady Brook, Newfoundland who moved to Toronto about a year and a half ago with his then band mate as a duo has since rebuilt himself into what we see today as BRDGS.
Being so successful in Newfoundland with various bands prior to BRDGS John explained that “Its cool to see it exploding again” and although he is always writing for himself he spends most of his time working behind the scenes writing for other people.
With an EP planned for release this summer he also went on to say that the support of his current 3 singles has been incredible. He’s reached #7 on viral 50 on Spotify and broke into the Top 30 with his single “In the Wild” which hit #28 which he said just “kinda came out of nowhere, everything is just coming out of nowhere, it’s cool to see people engaging the grass roots music” and independent artists that we now see making their way onto the scene more and more.
BRDGS will be opening up for Nelly back in St. John’s in the coming weeks.
