The show announcement comes on the heels of Billy Talent’s incredibly successful 2022 Canada-wide tour with Rise Against. They also released their sixth studio album CRISIS OF FAITH in 2022. The ten track LP was produced entirely by the band’s guitarist and main songwriter, Juno-nominated producer Ian D’Sa, in the band’s Toronto studio. The album saw enormous success, delivering three #1 radio singles – “Reckless Paradise,” “I Beg to Differ (This Will Get Better),” and “End of Me,” featuring Rivers Cuomo of Weezer. These tracks have combined to spend 21 weeks atop the Canadian rock radio charts, with “End of Me” marking the band’s longest standing #1 radio single in their career at 11 weeks in the top spot, eclipsing only “Reckless Paradise” which held the top spot for nine weeks. The trio of chart-toppers from the same album is a first in Billy Talent’s storied career, joining only The Black Keys and Foo Fighters to have three #1 singles from the same album. About Cypress Hill
Three decades ago, B-Real, Sen Dog, and DJ Muggs sparked a trip that left popular culture stoned, stunned, and staggering in anticipation for more. Naming themselves after a local street in Los Angeles, Cypress Hill burst on the scene in 1991 with the release of their self-titled debut album. The singles “How I Could Just Kill a Man” and “The Phuncky Feel One” became underground hits, and the group’s public pro- marijuana stance earned them many fans among the alternative rock community. Cypress Hill followed their debut with Black Sunday in the summer of 1993, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200, garnered three GRAMMY® Award nominations, and went triple platinum in the U.S. As a result, Cypress Hill became the first rap group to have two albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 charts at the same time and are the first Latino-American hip-hop group to achieve platinum and multi-platinum success. Since the release of Black Sunday, Cypress Hill have put out seven more albums including 2018’s critically acclaimed, Elephants on Acid. Cypress Hill made history once again in 2019 when the group was honored with their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2021, Cypress Hill released “Champion Sound.” Produced by Black Milk, the single appears on the soundtrack of R.B.I Baseball 21, the eighth installment of the R.B.I. franchise developed by Major League Baseball and is also the featured song for the band’s partnership with Montejo Cerveza. Cypress Hill will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut this year with a SONY reissue on vinyl, 7-inch box set, a reissue across all DSP’s that includes eight unreleased tracks, as well as a graphic novel. The band also announced their very own STANCE sock (out now) and will be releasing their “Hits From The Bong” documentary as part of Mass Appeal’s “Hip Hop 50” franchise in partnership with Showtime.
About Cancer Bats
With 17 years under their belt, including 6 acclaimed studio albums, five JUNO Award nominations and countless tours around the globe, Cancer Bats have become an undeniable force within the world of heavy music. One of the hardest working bands in the industry, Cancer Bats have graced the covers and pages of countless tastemaking publications including Kerrang!, Exclaim!, Revolver and Rock Sound.
About The OBGMs
“This is rock music that hits differently. It’s Kurt Cobain shit. It’s Jimi Hendrix shit. It’s the Steve Jobs of this rock shit.” That’s vocalist/guitarist Densil McFarlane talking about his band the OBGMs and their new album, The Ends. If he sounds like a man who doesn’t lack confidence, that’s because he doesn’t. If there’s something crucial beyond the music, it’s that the OBGMs—rounded out by drummer Colanthony Humphrey and bassist Joseph Brosnan—aren’t your typical rock band. “This is a black-fronted punk band, and that’s really important,” McFarlane says. “Rock n’ roll is mostly white suburban kids—that’s what gets promoted. But we are black and we out here. I was inspired to make rock music when I saw a black guy onstage, and if someone sees that in us, I hope it will inspire a new generation to go after this.” The OBGMs released their album The Ends via Black Box in October 2020.
