Legendary Rockers Avenge Sevenfold stop by on their Life’s Is But A Dream North American Tour in the Nations Capitol and we were there to rock out!
Joining them on Part 1 of this tour all the way from Australia Kim Dracula, and giving direct backup is Canadian post-hardcore royalty ALEXISONFIRE!
Kim Dracula opens the night at the Canadian Tire Center, the band comes out in ghoulish masks to an ominous tone. With 3.6 million followers on tiktok we see the hype instantly! Kim Dracula is all energy on stage running side to side, non stop movement. At one point of the show Kim pulls out a chainsaw and starts swinging it around!
Kim really gets the crows hyped up and ready for the next bands, getting the crowd going by starting a massive circle pit! Also playing one of Kim’s most popular cover songs, Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi. Kim Dracula was incredible and someone you don’t want to miss out on.
I think it is safe to say that you know who this band is, but if you have not ALEXISONFIRE is a post-hardcore band from St. Catherine’s Ontario and they have been killing the metal scene for years now! They were just in Ottawa last summer at the RBC Bluesfest.
Since then these guys have not stopped! They continue on their relentless tour schedule and this time they join the might Avenge Sevenfold on their Part 1 North American Tour. AOF is just one of those bands where you think you know what to expect when you see them, but somehow after watching them feel like you didn’t see anything coming your way. With their heavy packed sets it is wave after wave of non stop hits and one massive sing along. AOF have been coming to Ottawa for a very long time, and this city has definitely made them feel like they are a hometown band
The mighty Avenge Sevenfold finally is ready to hit the stage! As the light go out a shadowy figure makes their way into the middle of the stage and sits in a chair. Light slowly come on and it is lead vocalist Shadow emerges from the shadows. Taking next to no breaks these guys came to rock and that they did, playing for 1.5 hours they kept pumping out jam after jam after jam! Currently touring their newest album which the tour is named after “Life Is But A Dream” not only did they play a bunch of those Ax7 still played a bunch of classics for those who have been around since the beginning!
When you think of rock gods and who is in someone top 10 favorite rock bands, these guys will always be in that top 10. They may have taken a 6 year break to rejuvenate themselves and the wait we well worth it! These guys have more life and energy to give than ever, and this is one tour you do not want to miss out on. They are making their way across Canada then headed to the U.S.A in the fall.
