It was late November and Autumn Hill, Jason Benoit and River Town Saints played four shows on a quick little jaunt across Ontario with the first stop in Ottawa then off to Hamilton, Kitchener and London to close things out. Four fantastic nights of music. We were made it to three of the shows and well we all agreed that all were fantastic.
River Town Saints kicked things off each night with a solid performance. If you haven’t had a chance to catch RTS yet put them on your wish list trust me they really know how to put on a hell of a show. With the current single A Little Bit Goes A Long Way at radio (request it now Canada) the boys are just starting to gain traction outside the Ottawa area. But for those that were at the Kenny Chesney street party in Hamilton earlier this year would have had a chance to see this guys melt faces. They didn’t disappoint in Hamilton a quick 6 song set had the crowd wanting more there is no doubt about that.

Next up was Newfoundland’s own Jason Benoit. Now I had a chance to catch Jason on a couple of occasions over the last couple weeks with 2 dates on Tim Hicks, Get A Little Crazy Tour in both Guelph & Oshawa. This time around JB had a little longer set with the addition of 2 songs from his previous set that rounded out a good 8 songs. Jason has a killer voice and with four singles already at radio the fans were singing right along. It was the smiles in the crowd that pretty much confirmed that the they were pleased. And the folks that raved about him in Hamilton have his set definitely wanted more from Mr. Benoit.

Then it was time… Time for the main event weighing in with one hell of set Autumn Hill. Now I have seen these two perform a couple of times over the last say four or five months including a really cool intimate show for about 20 lucky winners for a TV Special for AUX TV. And every time the set gets better. Whether it be Mike jumping around the stage striking killer guitar posses with grin ear to ear or it Tareya belting out one hell of note and bring the beauty to match the brawn of her counterpart. I personally have a soft spot for these two as they were the first act to do a Mason Jar Session with us and to have these two sit in front of you and perform Blame in an almost dreamlike setting was a heck of an experience. Oh, and guess who was just announced to open for Gord Bamford & Joe Nichols on the Ontario dates of the Country Certified Tour in May. Yup you guessed it, Autumn Hill. So be sure to grab your tickets to that fantastic tour ASAP..
