This just in! Runaway Angel‘s new debut video for Run Angel Run, directed by Main Stage Media.
These ladies were part of last year’s Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase. Looks like they’re going places, with Nashville at the top of that list!

The Franklin Electric out of Montreal, put on an amazing show last night at The Drake Underground and we were there to take it all in. The second of two sold out shows, found the band excited and enthusiastic. Let me just add a side note – I love this venue for live music. I love the size, the acoustics, the location, the staff.
Elizabeth and the Catapult, think about it, for just a second. What a great band name, seriously. They were in Toronto this week to open two shows for The Franklin Electric at The Drake Underground. Being completely honest, I’d never heard of E. and the C. before last night. Is it because Elizabeth Ziman is a Brooklyn musician and not local? I don’t know but, now I can’t un-hear her and that’s a very good thing. Elizabeth won me over wholly and completely. Her voice, her lyrics, her personal interactions with the audience. All of it. She was a spectacular surprise.
It’s been a while since the initial line up for Bestival Toronto was announced. Yesterday they added L.A.’s BANKS to the roster. BANKS, known for her dark, sultry sound is a welcome addition to the festival. Arriving on the music scene in 2013, she’s made quite a name for herself quickly. Influenced by Fiona Apple and Lauryn Hill her tone draws you in and keeps you riveted. She’s toured internationally with The Weeknd in 2013. Bestival curator ROB DA BANK came across her at a show in London and became a fan.
You may be asking, who is Paul Cowderoy? He’s the son of a sugar cane farmer from Northern New South Wales, Australia, who grew up listening to country music. In 2012 After Tonight, the first single from Paul’s debut album Now, made it to number 2 on the Kix Country Top 20 and on the Hot Country Top 50 (Australia’s country music channel). The next single released, Emerald Eyes hit number one and Need to Need You charted at 20 on the National charts. Continuing the success, in 2013 Paul won the Australian Country Music People’s Choice Award for Best Male Vocalist.

Last night in Toronto The Lovelocks made their Hugh’s Room debut and it was magical. As a supporter of local talent they’ve been on our radar for a while. This was my first time seeing them live but we’ve covered them before, and we’ll be covering them again. Now when I say local, you can’t get any more local than these ladies. They let us know during their set that they live in the neighbourhood!
You’ve all heard of Canada’s Walk of Fame but maybe you haven’t heard of their wonderful mentorship program, now in it’s third year. Supported by RBC, the Canada’s Walk of Fame initiative aims to inspire and nurture highly gifted young musical talent to build a strong foundation for Canada’s role in the arts.

Did you know Chad Brownlee, Jess Moskaluke and Bobby Wills are playing shinny hockey with you on the When the Lights Go Down tour? Ok, with contest winners, but that could be you! We shot some footage of the St. Patrick’s Day Shinny Shenanigans at Toronto’s The Mod Club.
Tuesday afternoon the “When the Lights Go Down” tour rolled into Toronto with Chad Brownlee, Jess Moskaluke and Bobby Wills ready to show the big city, a little country. I was so happy I’d booked the day off to cover the show at The Mod Club. St. Patrick’s Day and When the Lights Go Down tour, yes please!
