We had a chance to ask David John Roberts of Washboard Union a few questions before they light up the CMT Music Fest stage in our CMT Music Fest Artist Spotlight. 

For the 3^rd year in a row, Jason Blaine, hit a home run (wrong sport… hole in one?) with his annual Celebrity Classic Charity Golf Tournament. This year’s installment, held in his hometown of Pembroke, raised over $80,000 for local charities including Algonquin College, The Boys and Girls Club, and The Salvation Army. 

Looks like August 5th will be the release date for the Cadillac Three’s new album to hit the street.   Bury Me In My Boots will have 14 songs on it and the boys were involved in them all.   However, they may have had some of Nashville’s heavy hitters join in for the ride.  

Sometimes the stars align and things just seem to be perfect and nothing can knock that feeling away.  Well last Thursday night in Toronto all the country stars you could think of showed up and played one of the best venues in the city in support of the relief efforts for Fort McMurray.   It was honestly one of the coolest and intimate experiences I have had in a long time. Along with raising just over $17,000 for the cause. #Country4FortMac 

So this past weekend marked the start of the Sound of Music Festival with their 2nd Annual Kick Off Party.  The weather was hot, the beer was cold and the fans came out to support an amazing day of Rock & Roll.

No Shoes Nation showed up in numbers Thursday night at The Molson Canadian Amphitheater. It was a full house of plaid, western hats, boots and country fans who were definitely in a mood to party with Kenny Chesney! 

Here’s a look back to when Sound Check covered the fun show that Foreigner delivered in April at Casino Rama. Love how they interact with their audience, and drummer Chris Frazier is a prime example of that. 

So, I didn’t really want to say I Mother Earth with Edwin as my headline because well, I Mother Earth isn’t I Mother Earth without him in my personal opinion.  Now that that is out of the way lets talk Reunion show #1 held at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in downtown Toronto on Friday June the 3rd.  It was a smokin’ hot night outside and the boys of I Mother Earth only raised the temperature inside to almost boiling as they rocked through a 120 min long set.   

We had a chance to chat with Dan + Shay last week while they were in Toronto to promote their current album Obsessed.  Here is the first single off the album From The Ground Up.   Be sure to check out our interview with the boys HERE.

Dan + Shay dropped their new album Obsessed last Friday.  I had a chance to catch up with them last week while they were in Toronto on a promo tour.   The last time the boys were in town was when they played The Mod Club with Canaan Smith back in April of 2015.  I can remember that show and thinking there may have been 10 guys in the sold out club that night.  Fast forward 13 months and the they a new album and a boat load of summer festival dates lined up.
