Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness (AMITW) brought the Hello Gone Days Tour to the outdoor stage at Kemba Live! in Columbus Ohio on Monday night. Die-hard fans were stretched across the front row barricade, singing their hearts out from the very beginning, trying to catch Andrew’s eye and be acknowledged. And acknowledged they were as Andrew, the consumate frontman that he is, had his piano front and center so he could perform up close and personal.
He had so much energy he could hardly stay seated, bouncing up when the mood struck, legs in a wide stance while he hunched over the piano. When he was able, he would grab the mic and make for the edge of the stage to get even closer to the crowd while his band mates carried on. The rest of the band is comprised of Bobby Anderson (guitar, vocals), Jay McMillian (Drums), Mikey Wagner (bass), Zac Clark (keyboardist, guitar).
What a night of pure joy, empowerment and a safe space. That’s what AMITW creates for the fans. You gotta love it!
Dashboard Confessional is a rock band out of Boca Raton, Florida led by singer Chris Carrabba. He started the set alone on stage with his acoustic guitar and launched into “The Brilliant Dance.” The hour long set featured fan favorites, “Vindicated” ,”Don’t Wait” ,”Stolen” and others. This band never disappoints and was a great choice as direct support to AMITW.
Also on the bill was New Jersey rock band Armour For Sleep who started the evening off with a high energy set.
Don’t miss the Hello Gone Days Tour especially if you intend to purchase VIP tix as they have sold out in select cities.
