If you live in Ottawa and haven’t heard of Amos the Transparent I’m guessing you haven’t paid attention to the local band scene at all.
This 6 piece indie folk rock band formed in 2006 and began as a studio project. The band quickly grew into a local favorite and is now arguably one of Ottawa’s biggest local talents. They’ve had their share of exposure on the international stages as well being described as the “Canadian Wilco”.
While the band slows down during the winter months, with the number of shows they play, they never miss their annual holiday show. Every year this band takes the opportunity to play crowd favorites from all 4 of their albums, and if you’ve been following this band you might even recognize a few songs that never made it to the albums.
I’m sure there are some Christmas classics being practiced right now also, it is a holiday show after all. In any events all the songs are crowd pleasers and the band has also been known to pull people out of the crowd to jump on stage to belt out the tunes and finish the songs with lead singer, Jonathan Chandler.
Amos has been kicking off the Christmas break and entertaining sell-out crowds with an annual holiday show for the past seven years. This year they will be returning to the Blacksheep Inn in Wakefield, Quebec, for the second year in a row, on December 23rd.
There are two ticket options for the show: Ticket + Shuttle: $25 or Tickets only: $15.
Don’t wait too long to get your tickets though, tickets are known to sell out fast!
