On April 15th 2022 The Glorious Sons with supporting acts JJ Wilde landed in Kingston, Ontario Canada with their Unfinished Business Tour. The Leons Centre crowd has patiently awaited the arrival of their “Glorious Sons” home arrival show. Leading the crusade on main vocals Brett Emmons accompanied by his brother Jay Emmons on guitar, Chris Koster on guitar, drummer Adam Paquette and Josh Hewson on Keyboards. “”Kingstons Sons” took the stage full force, and ended it in hyperdrive. The youthful band has shown refinement in their stage performance over the years leading up to now. Better sound, better vocals, better all around performance. It was rejuvenating to see TGS crew perform as well as they did. You could tell the crowd appreciated it with the roars, screams and lyrics sung back to the stage.

Not every band relates with their audience like The Sons can, it’s an environment most acts strive to achieve and they’ve done it with ease it appears, they just appeal real to everyone, and themselves. Leading up to showtime it wouldn’t take a genius to look around and see what a loyal fanbase that the Sons carry on their backs. Strangers becoming friends, friends enjoying each others company, and everyone feeling satisfied when the curtains close. But of course wanting more!

Age doesn’t seem to be a number for a TGS fan, there’s a little bit of something for everyone, and for some quite a lot. The Canadian, Juno award Winning band takes things loosely as them come, never taking themselves seriously like most, you can feel they’re right at home on stage. Not every band has friends as their audience because that’s how it feels, everyone in the crowd for at least one second had a personal moment with each member of the band. A rare thing to say for 2022!

The crowd gave them their life and the Sons will forever be in their debt, so it’s the very least they could do by coming back to play another show. Leaving the show how they started it, with full force. There’s something special about a band that when they leave the stage and the roadies start to pack up that you can still hear the songs be sung by the crowd exiting the building, the greatest compliment.

Taking the stage before the Sons is a Canadian gal from Kitchner, Ontario Canada. Along side her onstage the six string combo back and forth between guitarists Jay Danza and Daniel Bossenberry was an excellent example of when good meets evil. With Mitch Milley keeping the beat alive on the skins, that leaves the very simple job of keys and bass combo to Steve Lavery… What a MADMAN! The moment JJ Wilde’s band hit the stage you could feel that this was going to be a good show and when the lights came on, JJ took the stage with vengeance. Taking centre stage, she drew the crowd with the first chord, this was going to be a night to remember.

Having the brass to headline as she performed so, it won’t be long before she has all the seats in Kingston coming to see her. With her star studded performance, it won’t be long before JJ Wilde is a household name. In a world dominated by male rock acts does JJ Wilde + Band have something to prove? NO! But if they did, they sure know how to make themselves stand out in the crowd. With raw lyrics combined with pure musical energy, this band emits a rock essence that we haven’t seen in years for an opening act.

Honest and unapologetic seemed to be the motto for the eve. I never rate a performance out of 1 through 10 but I can tell you that next go around, if I’m not shooting the show, I’ll be attending it.
