The Dead Daisies “Get Out of the House Tour” had fans doing just that at The King of Clubs on July 2nd. Columbus, Ohio was the hard rock collaborative’s fifth show and largest attendance of 2021. General admission was back and for many it was their first show out since the pandemic. Seeing these big names in rock grace the stage was a great way to start the holiday weekend. The super group that was started in 2013 currently consists of founder David Lowy, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, Doug Aldrich of Dio and Whitesnake, and Tommy Clufetos of Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, and the new L.A. Rats.

The Dead Daisies played older favorites such as “Lock ‘N’ Load” as well as “My Fate” and other titles from their most recent album Holy Ground, which was released at the end of 2020. The talent of each member was highlighted with the vast set list. Hughes had an amazing vocal solo that showcased his fantastic range, and Aldrich broke a string on the fourth song and finished it perfectly before switching guitars. The audience was thrilled to see such seasoned vets of rock perform on stage. Footage of the show was even filmed for a video that will be released later in the year.  After their warm-up run of a quick nine shows in eighteen days that wraps up July 10th, the next performance to start their “Like No Other” Tour is Sept 10th at the Apollo theater in Rockford, Illinois.

Resist & Bite is a new hard rock band featuring guitarist Tommy Skeoch of Tesla and lead vocalist Nathan Utz of Lynch Mob. Formed in early 2019, the majority of their first year was spent writing and recording. The band debuted in February of 2020 with their first self-produced song “The Myth I’m Living”. They finished up recording their debut album earlier this year, and the new single “Fate” and accompanying video was just released at the end of June. “Fate” was the first of a full twelve track album that is set to release late this year.

Resist & Bite only recently began playing shows the night before. Columbus, Ohio was their second concert performance together as a band. They played a full of energy set that even included a couple Tesla covers, such as “Modern Day Cowboy”.  One could tell by their stage presence that the band members enjoyed playing the show as much as the crowd enjoyed seeing them on stage. Resist & Bite is a band to keep an eye on. Their next show is August 6th in Nashville at the Mercy Lounge.

People rocking out on the floor at The King of Clubs was a welcome sight for all.  Mezzanine table seating is still available depending on the show, but the large crowd was very happy to be once again standing shoulder to shoulder next to fellow music lovers. The recently added patio bar and food order location proved to be a wonderfully convenient new addition. The King of Clubs has recently partnered with the radio station QFM96 and continues to announce great upcoming shows weekly.
