BRETT KISSEL TO “END SUMMER WITH A SONG” & RAISE FUNDS FOR HOLY NAME SCHOOL PLAYGROUND AT PEMBROKE MEMORIAL CENTRE

On February 21st, 2018 Brett Kissel performed at special show at Pembroke’s Festival Hall to raise money for a new playground at Holy Name School. That show raised almost $10,000 towards their play structure.

During that show Brett promised that he would return to help raise the remaining funds needed to complete the project.

It is with great pleasure that Sound Check Entertainment along with Holy Name School’s Parent Teacher Council will be hosting a night of music, mingling and good ole Valley fun, at the Pembroke Memorial Centre on Saturday August 25 as we “End Summer with A Song” with Canadian Country Male Vocalist of the Year, Brett Kissel, and special guests to be announced.

Holy Name School relies heavily on the fundraising abilities of its small, but fierce Parent/Teacher Council. They set an ambitious goal of $50,000 this year and this will go towards replacing the outdated and unsafe play structure. The current play structure is out of use due to broken slides that can’t be replaced due to the age of the structure itself. To attempt the use of different slides would compromise the integrity of the structure itself.

Ticket details will be announced later this week!

About Brett Kissel

Kissel, a fifth generation Albertan, was born and raised in St.Paul, Alberta with his parents Brenda and Gordon Kissel. He has one older brother Jamison Kissel. Growing up on a cattle ranch in northeastern Alberta (in the Flat Lake region) played a big role in Kissel’s music. His family operates a successful cattle ranch with Angus and Speckle Park-cross cattle. Kissel’s ranching background garnered him attention in the agricultural and rodeo communities across Canada.

Kissel has also impressively established himself as a Creative Entrepreneur in the music industry. As the only Canadian to ever tour with Garth Brooks, one of planet earth’s top selling artists, Kissel notes, “Playing with Garth is impossible to effectively describe.  I really appreciate his willingness to take me under his wing and teach me so much about what it means to be an entertainer in this business.”

Over the past few years, Brett Kissel has received an armful of Canadian Country Music Association Awards. Brett was the recipient of the Allan Slaight Honour from Canada’s Walk of Fame, the Breakthrough Artist of the Year winner at the 2014 Juno Awards, and was recognized as the International Artist of the Year at the Worldwide Radio Summit in Hollywood, California (an honour given to Ed Sheeran and Adele in the last two years respectively). http://brettkissel.com/
