Here we grow again. A few months shy of a year after we added Corey Kelly to the writing team and about 2 months after we added Alberta Kelly we’re doing it again. Please give a warm welcome to Trish Cassling who recently joined the Sound Check family.
As Sound Check has grown in popularity we’ve also been moving towards a more visual approach with our coverage, ensuring that our articles have top quality photographs from events to compliment the story. The biggest handicap that we’ve had to date was the fact that neither Corey nor I were professional photographers. It doesn’t mean that we didn’t snap some amazing shots more so it means that we likely spent more time focused on the right shot when we should’ve been focusing on the show going on the stage. Trish Cassling is an accomplished events photographer and writer, she’s written for the Toronto Botanical Garden Blog, The Reviews Are In, her own Adventures of an Urban Girl, we’ve even used her photos in our feature on Dallas Smith so adding her to the team at Sound Check made perfect sense.
Trish Cassling is a city girl with her heart in the country.
Trish’s passion for new and emerging music (and taking awesome photos of new and emerging musicians) makes her a great addition to the Sound Check Entertainment team as its newest photographer responsible for covering Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
A born-and-raised Torontonian, Trish’s connection to Sound Check began when she met SC writer Corey Kelley at the Boots & Hearts Music Festival in 2013. Now she’s joining the team, bringing her love of music (with a special focus on country music) to Sound Check.
Whether it’s a dimly-lit bar, an ornate concert hall or a grassy festival field, Trish’s eagle-eye will find the best shots of the best musicians to share with Sound Check’s readers.
