Lawnya Vawnya: An Exposition of Independent Art and Culture in St. John’s has released it’s 2018 line up and let me tell you, it’s a doozy. This year’s headliners include Alvvays, Land of Talk, and Yamantaka // Sonic Titan.
The four day festival is in its eighth year, and includes panels, workshops, pop ups and more throughout downtown St John’s. This year the festival will be showcasing Artists in Residence. This is where selected artists will be provided a space in Quidi Vidi (St John’s) to relax, write and record any new material. During which time the artists are encouraged to reach out and engage with the local music scene. The first Artist in Residence has been St John’s native Tim Baker (Formerly of Hey Rosetta!).
This years line up has a lot of highlights, and if you find yourself passing through St John’s at the end of May, you should absolutely check this festival out.
