The Dead South doesn’t disappoint in second of two sold-out Toronto shows!

It was a cold Thursday night in Toronto but the party at Lee’s Palace was red hot, fueled by Saskatchewan natives The Dead South. With two sold out shows in the city there was little doubt we were in for something special.

The alt/country band from Toronto Johnson Crook did not disappoint as an opening act. They warmed things up as the crowd filed in for the headliners.

After selling out the Horseshoe in less than a week and scalpers selling tickets online for up to $180. The Dead South scrambled to find a venue for a second show, Lee’s Palace was the perfect fit and would turn into their second sell out in a row.

The show was full out boogie from the get go, the crowd slowly gained momentum, midway through the set when the band played “Massacre of El Kuroke”, off of their recent album Illusion and Doubt, the crowd got wild and didn’t stop the rest of the show. There was a jig dance down front, the entire room was bouncing and singing every song.

Nate Hills on lead vocals was loving every minute of it, these guys are hungry and can taste success. The Dead South are on the way up and fast. This easily a 5 out of 5 show.

The next Dead South show is Dec 31 in Regina followed by one more Canadian date in January before the group heads to New Orleans for a show on January 30 following which they group leaves North America for a European run for the month of February.
