Dallas Smith brought his Side Effects tour to London’s Centennial Hall last Sunday as the final stop on the Ontario leg of the tour and it was a night full of surprises!
Kicking things off was Lauren Alaina and her crew who started the early halloween festivities when they strolled out on stage as the cast of Austin Powers much to the delight of the crowd. Lauren belted out “What If’s” a duet she recorded with fellow country star Kane Brown which has absolutely taken country radio by storm, along with “Road Less Travelled” and she brought out a special guest to dance along side her for “Next Boyfriend” who was her actual boyfriend dressed as Austin Powers himself.
Next up was The Cadillac Three. This is a band I had been dying to see for quite some time and man am I ever glad I can now say I have. These three guys have such an incredible dynamic sound that pulls from so many genres of music. This was their final night on the Side Effects Tour before they headed over to the UK. Keeping the Halloween spirit alive and well the guys came out on stage with skeleton masks and Jaren even had his twin make an appearance on stage which was Dallas dressed in the standard long hair wig, shades and trucker hat. Talk about a band that isn’t afraid to crank it up to 11 these guys put on one heck of a show for the lucky crowd in London playing fan favourites “The South”, “Dang If We Didn’t” and my personal favourite “White Lightning”.
Keeping the crowd buzzing and the energy high Dallas absolutely exploded on stage wasting no time singing hit after hit with old favourites “Jumped Right In”, “Lifted” and “Wasting Gas” to hits from his new album “Side Effects”, “Sky Stays This Blue” and “Autograph”. If there’s one thing about Dallas I can say other than the fact that he is an incredible artist, singer, songwriter, musician and the rest of the long list of wonderful things that can be said about him is that he genuinely puts on a show that is especially for his fans and interacts with them throughout the entire show a true entertainer as far as I’m concerned. I’ve seen Dallas preform a number of times now and I can honestly say his energy on this tour is absolutely incredible and the best I’ve ever seen him. There must be something about riding the amazing wave this guy has been on lately that just keeps him going each and every night. One of my favourite parts of a Dallas Smith show is when he throws it back to his roots and we were lucky enough to get two Default songs when he played “Wasting My Time”, and “Count On Me”. Another highlight of this tour that should not go unnoticed is the addition of Andrew Hyatt and Shawn Austin who are both incredibly talented guys who we expect to see more and more great things from all the time!
