Feb 11, 2015 – We can now officially confirm that AC/DC Rock or Bust is coming to Canada this summer!
September 2 Update: We have learned that Live Nation may unlock a block of seats with a partially obstructed view at some point tomorrow morning. If you were unable to get your tickets when they first went on sale here’s your chance. Bookmark www.capitaltickets.ca, exact time of the release is still unknown but we expect it to be between 8am & 10am. Our friends at Ottawa’s Rock Station CHEZ 106 will likely announce the time as soon as it’s made known so be sure to tune in tomorrow morning.
September 1 Update: If you are headed to the show in Ottawa on September 3 there are numerous transportation options to get to the venue. On-site parking is very limited so unless you purchased it in advance you’ll want to look at some of the free transportation options to get to the show. Your concert ticket will get you free transportation to TD Place on any OC Transpo bus for 3 hours before the show and 3 hours after the show. There are also shuttle busses running from City Hall and Canada Post starting at 5pm. Full details can be found here.
California based Vintage Trouble will open the show for AC/DC at all North American and European dates of the tour, if you saw them at Ottawa Bluesfest last summer or at Mavericks last fall you already know they are not to be missed!
Rock or Bust is the fifteenth internationally released studio album and the sixteenth to be released in Australia. It will be the shortest studio album ever released by the band; at under 35 minutes, it is two minutes shorter than their previous shortest album, Flick of the Switch, released in 1983. Released on December 2, 2014 internationally (November 28 in Australia) Rock or Bust is the band’s first album of original material since Black Ice in 2008.
Hot on the heels of their explosive performance at the Grammy Awards the Canadian leg of the Rock or Bust tour has now been officially announced. It’s now safe to say that the rumours were false but we can now confirm that AC/DC will come to Canada starting with Quebec City on Aug. 28 followed by concerts at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium on Aug. 31, Ottawa on September 3 for a huge outdoor show at TD Place, Moncton’s Magnetic Hill on Sept. 5, Toronto’s Downsview Park on Sept. 10 and Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium on Sept. 20.
The last Canadian stop is Sept. 22 at BC Place in Vancouver, the city where AC/DC recorded the new album Rock or Bust.
