Rock the Park kicked off the first of five days with their “Gone Country” lineup including Jason Benoit, Brett Young, Kelsea Ballerini and Lady Antebellum on Wednesday night in London’s beautiful Harris Park.
Jason Benoit started the night off right, getting the crowd pumped up with his hits “Crazy Kinda Love”, “The Moonshine” and “Cold Day Coming”. Jason kicked it up a notch with a medley of crowd favourites with a little Garth Brooks in the mix. Who doesn’t love a little Garth.
Next to hit the Gone Country stage was none other than the California boy himself Brett Young. I think out of everyone I was most excited to see Brett preform. His self titled album is definitely one to check out if you haven’t already. Brett made all the girls in the crowd swoon with his hits “Sleep Without You” and “In Case You Didn’t Know”.
Kelsea Ballerini was next on the Gone Country stage and she absolutely killed it. It’s incredible how much energy she brings to the stage. It took no time at all for Kelsea to have the entire crowd singing and dancing along to fan favourites “Yeah Boy” and “Dibs”.
Closing out the first night of Rock the Park 2017 was headliners Lady Antebellum. This was the second time I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Lady A and all I can say is WOW. Kicking off their show with dueling trombone and trumpet was one heck of a way to set the tone for the rest of their set. Playing songs from their new album “Heart Break” as well as my personal favourite “American Honey” and many many more of their hits Lady A did not disappoint the London crowd! A perfect way to end an incredible night of country music.
Stay tuned all week for our coverage of Rock the Park. We still have 4 more amazing days of music ahead of us! Coming up tonight Virgin Radio Presents Wiz Khalifa, Fetty Wap ft Monty, DJ Mustard and Casper the Ghost.
