21 Pilots performed in Cincinnati, Ohio and thrilled fans with a 25+ song/2 encore show Sunday night at Heritage Bank Center. This was the third stop on The Icy Tour.
Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, each wearing their signature balaclavas plus sunglasses, made a grand entrance through a trap door on the stage and a gentle “snow” began to fall.
Supporting their sixth studio album Scaled and Icy (2021), the guys wasted no time digging fully into that album, opening with “Good Day” and “No Chances.” and later “Shy Away” ,“Choker” ,“The Outside” and “Mulberry Street.”
The show had killer production with huge video screens, risers, bump-outs, another mini stage near the soundboard area, and massive special effects – smoke, fire, snow and confetti canons. The crowd was ramped up to the max and decked out in all manner of 21 Pilots merch. Everywhere you looked it was a sea of cell phones capturing the show or held high with the flashlight on. Any time there was a lull, you could plainly hear the lyrics being belted out by the fans or The Skeleton Clique as they like to be called.
They ended their set with the massive 2016 hit “Stressed Out” and encores “Heathens” and “Trees.” Overall the show and crowd response was absolutely amazing. As this is the beginning of the tour, there are plenty of dates left to catch this highly recommended show!
